Friction is when one object rubs against another object and causes the first object to slow down. If the surface that the object is moving across is smooth then it will take longer for the object to slow down. But if the surface has more of a rough surface than the object will slow down a lot slower. Also if the object has more mass then the friction between the two surfaces will be a lot stronger.
For example in dance they have different types of shoes that cause more or less friction when dancing. In Lyrical you have to have rubber soles on the bottom so that you don't fall when you're turning. But when your in dance you have to have a much smoother surface so that its easier to get you're sounds in. |
