Momentum is the velocity gained by how much force is exerted and the mass of the object. To keep momentum going you must have a continuous force applied so that it doesn't stop moving. When an object has a lot of mass the more momentum its going to have and that makes it harder for the object to slow down.
In dance to keep momentum going you have to plié so that you can push yourself back up to perform a leap or a turn. When your turning you want to keep your momentum going so that you don't fall out of your turns. Like when you finish one turn you need to plié so that you can prep for your next turn and have a good amount of speed to make it around a second time. |
